Cold is the other half of the sauna. A property with heat but no cold plunge is selling half an experience, and contrast — hot, cold, rest — is what turns a visit into a ritual guests come back for.

Commercial cold is an engineering problem
In a tropical climate, holding water at plunge temperature all day is the hard part. Ambient heat pushes back constantly, so the useful specification is not the lowest temperature a unit can reach but the temperature it can hold while guests keep using it.
That comes down to three things: chiller capacity sized for local conditions, genuine insulation on the tub and its lid, and filtration that keeps the water clear through repeated daily use.

Placement decides whether it gets used
A plunge that requires a walk across a public area, or that has nowhere to stand afterwards, gets tried once. Placed a few steps from the sauna with a shower between them and somewhere to sit after, the same tub becomes the centre of the zone.
We plan placement around the loop, then work backwards to services. Retrofitting power and drainage to a spot chosen purely for looks is the most common avoidable cost in this work.
Finishes that survive a wet zone
Our tubs are built for the setting they sit in — teak and hardwood cladding, underwater lighting where it adds to the evening atmosphere, and lids that protect both the water and the chiller's workload. Every visible surface has to tolerate water, sun and cleaning products, which rules out a lot of materials that look good in a catalogue.
Running it after handover
Cold therapy raises questions staff will be asked: how long to stay in, how often, who should not use it. We hand over with practical operating guidance and can advise on how to package contrast sessions as part of your spa or recovery offer.
We do not publish medical claims about cold exposure, and we recommend you do not either — the commercial case rests on a well-run experience, not on health promises.

How cold do your ice baths get?
The target temperature is set with you and specified through chiller capacity and insulation. What matters commercially is holding that temperature through a full day of use in tropical ambient heat.
Can an ice bath be added to an existing spa or sauna?
Yes — this is the most common request. We assess placement, power, drainage and the guest route between hot and cold before proposing a scope.
What maintenance does a commercial cold plunge need?
A simple daily and weekly routine: filtration checks, water treatment, keeping the lid on between sessions and periodic chiller servicing. We cover the routine at handover.
